The chief recommendations for reaching the state’s goal of universal broadband access focus on supporting disadvantaged communities, investing in infrastructure, and modernizing state government online services to better serve rural, low-income citizens.
Produced in November 2019, Broadband in Nebraska: Current Landscape & Recommendations updates a similar report for the state made five years earlier. The primary goals described in the report are to increase household adoption of broadband, increase availability, and support broadband-related development. Some essential recommendations are to improve broadband data collection and mapping, encourage investment in Nebraska's telecommunications infrastructure, and support the development of libraries as community institutions.
