Using the Real-Time Population Survey (RPS), a biweekly online survey with the same core questions as the Current Population Survey (CPS), this paper reports on how many U.S. workers shifted to home-based work in the months after the pandemic outbreak. The results are based on supplemental questions about commuting behavior in recent months that are not available in the CPS.
